Claus Preisinger is more than a bit of a self-made man and winemaker: he started his winery in his early twenties out of his parents’ garage and finished building his state-of-the-art winery in the Burgenland region of Austria in 2009, before he was even thirty years old. He has become known for his elegantly crafted versions of two Austrian red grapes, Zweigelt and Blaufrankisch, and has been practicing biodynamics since the very beginning. Highly aromatic and medium-bodied, this Zweigelt is juicy and soft, a great introduction to the country’s most widely planted red varietal.
