The House of Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 by André Michel Pierlot and took the name Veuve Laurent-Perrier when Mathilde Emilie Perrier, the widow of Eugène Laurent, combined the two family names after she decided to expand the business. Eugénie Hortense Laurent, her daughter, inherited the house in 1925 and sold it to Marie-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt in 1939; it remains in the hands of that family today. Just released in fall of 2023, this Grand Siecle No. 26 is a blend of wines from the 2007, 2008, and 2012 vintages and has easiily made the "Top 100 of 2023" lists of several different critics. One critic, roger voss, writes; "Tautly textured, the Champagne is delicious with a poise between white and citrus fruits along with touches of maturity coming through. Drink this magnificent wine now for its great balance and intensity."
