Kumusha in the Zimbabwean Shona language translates to “your home,” “your roots” or “your origin.” World-renowned sommelier Tinashe Nyamudoka believes the best wines are representative of their region. Collaborating with growers and winemakers, Tinashe is building a line of wines that represent and honor their roots. Minimal intervention winemaking and natural fermentation leave the wine free to speak of its origins. These are wines that Tinashe would not only like to drink himself, but wines that, from his experience as a sommelier, are representative of what is leading the way for the style of South African wines. His Cabernet is from certified sustainable vineyards in the Western Cape region; a 60/40 blend of oak-matured and concrete age juice, it has aromas and flavors of red plums, cherries, and dark-roast coffee, with acidity and tannins all in balance with the fruit.
