The Grand Bateau line of wines is the result of a close collaboration, dating back to the 1980s, between Chateau Beychevelle and top Bordeaux negociant Barriere Freres. Philippe Blanc, Director of Beycheville, serves as consultant on the project. An 80/20 blend of Merlot and Cab, it has a nose of violets, black cherries, and vanilla and is fresh and elegant on the palate, with excellent balance and structure, everything you could possibly want in a value-priced Bordeaux.
